Welcome to Hilgay and Ten Mile Bank
Hilgay is a small Norfolk village with a long history. It rises (almost imperceptably) from the surrounding flat fenland and was an island at the time of the Doomesday Book. It is a small friendly place surrounded by farmland and although it has moved to embrace new technology (it has fast broadband) is it still has a welcoming village feel to it. There’s a thriving primary school (Riverside Academy), a Public House, a range of activities taking place in the village hall, and a popular Good Companions club too. All Saints Church is known for it’s fabulous avenue of Lime trees, and the Methodist Chapel is conveniently situated in the High Street.
Ten Mile Bank is a rural fenland village, situated five miles from the market town of Downham Market and just over the A10 from the village of Hilgay. Ten Mile Bank enjoys miles of beautiful walks along the river Great Ouse and St Mark’s Church can be found nestling quietly in Church Road, overlooking the river.
